Fun Friday

Our youngest 2 are visiting my in-laws at the farm for a couple of days so I thought I'd take the oldest 2 to Storybook Gardens for some FUN! Best part is that after posting about it on facebook a friend and her kidlets decided to join us! Whoo hoo! We need to get ready to go soon but I thought I'd post a birthday card I made for a 5 year old boy. My second son is going to his pirate-themed birthday party tomorrow and so I wanted to make a pirate-themed card. It took me just about the whole afternoon yesterday. Took me too long to get the water right and was time consuming to get all the little pieces together. I like how it turned out though. :)

All stamps are Hero Arts and the pirate ship is Silhouette design.

I was also just going through my google reader and when the Silhouette site popped up, I gasped. Right at the top of their blog post was another birthday card I made a few weeks ago. I guess on Fridays they are featuring projects from their flickr pool. What a nice surprise! :)

Hope you all have a fun Friday today! Hugs!

P.S. Just saw that Lisa Bearnson is giving away a Silhouette SD on her blog! Hope one of you wins it! :)

Hubby's Father's Day card

Just a quick post. I was sedated for some testing last Tuesday and was sleepy the good part of last week. Hoping my energy continues to return this week. Anyway here's the Father's Day card I made for my hubby who has his private pilot's license:

All stamps are Hero Arts. Airplane and white clouds are Hero Arts shapes for the Silhouette.
Thanks for stopping by!

Butterfly Fields

Just a quick post. My Mom is up for a few days and she's out with the kids right now so I thought I'd post the card I made last Thursday. I got some Hero Arts goodies in the mail Thursday and just HAD To break open the Butterfly Fields stamp right away. When I first saw this stamp I knew I wanted to see if it would pair well with the Clouds Design Block stamp. I think it did. :)

First I stamped the Clouds stamp with Hero Arts Soft Pool Shadow Ink, then inked up the Butterfly Fields stamp with Versmark and clear embossed it over the clouds image. I then went over the 'exposed' areas with distress inks to fill in the grass and butterflies. I like how it turned out. :) Thanks for stopping by.

Birthday Cake

I made one more card for this round of the Hero Arts challenge. I must say, I've felt like I've lost my mojo the past little while but I had so much fun making this card.

I started out with the DCWV Citrus 4x6 pad (blue and green papers) and stamped both Hero Arts Ledger and Special Day words on the green paper with Shabby Shutters Distress Ink. Added the Happy Birthday from Essential Messages and the cake from Celebrate All Day. After coloring (and stickling) the cake I went through my ribbons and was SO excited when I found one that matched perfectly with everything. LOVE when things come together like that. I was so happy with how it came together that I decided it was worthy of a 'Jane button.' ;)

More rain here today. :( Hubby is home though and the kids are playing nicely at the moment, so it's as good as sunshine. :) Have a great day, everyone, and thanks for stopping by. :)

More Birthday Cards

Here are a couple more birthday cards I made this week. They both use the Hero Arts 'Birthday Wishes' for the Silhouette found: here. I'm having so much fun with my Silhouette and especially the Hero Arts shapes. ;)
The first card is also for this month's challenge at the Hero Arts blog where one of the themes is birthdays. Other then the kraft background everything else started out as white cardstock which I colored with distress inks and a foam applicator before stamping tone on tone with the same colors of distress ink.

Hero Arts: Special Day Words, Modern Lines, Cling Dots
Distress Inks: Broken China, Shabby Shutters, Fired Brick

Chocolate Notecard from Hero Arts, Patterned Paper DCWV Citrus 4x6 pad, Flower Prima, Brad Making Memories, Spellbinders Nestabilities Labels 8

Father's Day Cards

Just sharing a couple of cards I made for Hero Arts' newest challenge focusing on Father's Day, Grads, and Birthdays. I love that the challenges have been focusing on events for the next month making it easy it get things made way in advance. :) Anyways, these cards both use Hero arts, the Silhouette, and Tim Holtz Distress Inks... some of my favourite things. :)

Hope everyone's having a great week. I just wanted to say thank you for all the sweet comments you've been leaving me. SO appreciated. :) Does anyone know if there's a way to respond to individual comments via email with Blogger? Thanks. :)

A Baker's Dozen for National Scrapbooking Day!

So today is National Scrapbooking Day and I've been scrapping longer than I've been making cards. These days I seem to be spending WAY more time making cards than I do scrapbooking. (My poor kids). Anyways, I do hope to get a page done this weekend if other commitments allow for it. In the meantime I thought I'd share my favourite 13 pages I've made in the last year.

Happy National Scrapbooking Day! Anyone have an special plans involving paper?
