75 Creative Card Challenges Publication Share & Simon Says Stamp January 2013 Card Kit Winner

Hi everyone!

Happy New Years (Eve)!!! Do you make resolutions? I use to but have resolved not to any more. Hee hee. :)

I'm stopping by to share a card I have published in a new special issue put out by Paper Crafts called 75 Creative Card Challenges. I LOVE this issue! It's so fun to see how people interpreted the different challenges and I happen to have a record (for me) EIGHT cards in this one! I'm a little bit happy about that. :) FIVE of those cards were resubmitted from other calls. Just goes to show that just because something doesn't get picked up doesn't mean it isn't good enough. :)

Here's a card I have published for Challenge #2 - Make a Creative Handmade Flower:

I used the Lil' Inkers Design small bow die to create the flower and leaves, and used a little sun die from Hero Arts for the flower center. :)

Supplies:

Last but not least I'm sharing the winner of the Simon Says Stamp January 2013 Card Kit....

And the winner is:

Leni who said...
Creative buttons.
Love the paper in the card kit, such sweet patterns!
Congrats, Leni! Please send me an email with your mailing info and I'll pass it on to the wonder team at Simon Says Stamp!

Thanks everyone for stopping by! See you soon!

Simon Says Stamp January Card Kit: Happy Mail!

Hi everyone,

I'm back with yet another card featuring the Simon Says Stamp January Card Kit.

Here's today's card:

As you can see I couldn't resist using more of the gorgeous white woodgrain cardstock that comes in the kit. :) I also used 3 of the Maya Road canvas buttons that were included, coloring them with Distress Stains to match the patterned paper. I then sewed them onto the card with the DMC floss that was also included in the kit.

Supplies:

Just a reminder that sweet Heidi of Simon Says Stamp has given me a second January Card Kit to pass on to one of my blog readers! All you have to do is comment on any or all of my Card Kit posts this week (Monday, Thursday, today, and Saturday) and I'll pick and a announce a winner Monday December 31st.

Simon Says Stamp January Card Kit: Always Thinking of You

Hi everyone,

Welcome back!

Today I'm sharing another card I made with the Simon Says Stamp January Card Kit.

Here's today's card featuring the gorgeous white woodgrain cardstock that comes with the kit:

Don't you just love that? I have to ask Heidi where I can get more. I just LOVE it! For this card I decided to add some Pumice Stone Distress Ink to the woodgrain with an ink blending tool so just the raised areas would get the ink.

Supplies:

Simon Says Stamp Anything Goes Challenge!

Hi everyone,

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas yesterday! Today we're celebrating with my hubby's side of the family and he's the oldest of 8 so it's always a big group. :)

I'm also back with another Simon Says Stamp Challenge!!!

This week's challenge a fan favourite: Anything Goes! Some of us design team members are using Hemptique twine. They have lots of neutral (as well as fun) colors to chose from. :) This challenge was an extra fun one to work on because us design team members each made a Christmas gift for one of the other sweet ladies on the team. I made a gift for the super talented Mandy and this is what I made for her:

I used Hemptique twine for my bows and to thread my buttons. I wish I could tell you were you could find the little lunch box. It was something I've had for a few years just waiting to be decorated. I filled it with some crafty things that I hope Mandy will like.

This is what I used to make my project:

I hope you'll join us in this week's challenge! Up for grabs is a $50 gift voucher for the Simon Says Stamp store thanks to sweet Heidi! For all the details and to see what the other designers have come up with please visit HERE.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Merry Christmas!

Hi everyone!

Merry Christmas! I hope you all have a wonderful day celebrating the birth of Christ. His life, death, and resurrection is truly the greatest gift of all time. I came across this little video that I thought I'd share today.

I hope you get a chance to take time out of this busy season to pause and reflect on the true meaning of Christmas!

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you'll come back tomorrow for a new Simon Says Stamp Challenge and then again Thursday, Friday, and Saturday for more Simon Says Stamp January Card Kit cards.

Simon Says Stamp January Card Kit & a GIVEAWAY

Hi everyone,

Happy Christmas Eve Day!

I wasn't sure whether or not to post the cards I made with the Simon Says Stamp January Card Kit this week with Christmas tomorrow but I just can't put it off another week. ;)

In case you haven't seen January's kit, here it is. The kits can bought month by month or by subscription. I've linked to both below.

Lots of fun patterns in this one and I *love* the stamp set. So many great sentiments and the card I'm sharing today has my favourite one. :) I thought I'd try my hand at a super clean and simple card. I wish I was able to get a better picture but the sun has not been shining here. Here it is:

I simply stamped the sentiment and punched a number of hearts from some of the different zig zag papers to embellish with. I'm happy with how it turned out and think this might just be my hubby's Valentine's card. ;)

As always the very generous Heidi of Simon Says Stamp has given me a second January Card Kit to pass on to one of my blog readers! All you have to do is comment on any or all of my Card Kit posts this week (today, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday) and I'll pick and a announce a winner Monday December 31st.
