Welcome to the Simon Says Stamp August Card Kit Blog Hop!

What can I say? August's card kit ROCKS! Bold colors, fabulous stamps, yummy papers, fun flair, a burlap flower, twine...and something brand new that excites me most of all ---> a STENCIL!!! I have some fun stuff planned for this baby. ;) I'm gonna try and use it in different ways for all of my Card Kit cards this month.
For my first card, I used the wonderful new Simon Says Stamp stencil along with my Big Shot and embossing mats to dry emboss the kraft panel:

***ETA: I was asked what sandwich I used to emboss the stencil. I had my multi-purpose platform set for TAB 1. The I had cutting mat, stencil, cardstock, both embossing mats, and then the second cutting mat.***
...and on my second card I traced the stencil pattern with a black waterproof marker to cover the entire card front, then colored in the design with Inktense watercolor pencils:

ReplyDeleteWonderful cards! I really like the different ways you used the stencil. Back in the day, before all these diecut machines, I used to dry emboss a lot like this and loved the effect. Course it was all done by hand, which is why I like it :)

The embossing on the first card was so cool and then the cute little hearts topped it off. The colour scheme on the 2nd card was so eye-catching --- I would totally case that card - the twine and the sentiment simply tie off that card perfectly. Thank you so much!
