My Impressions: SSS April 2017 Card Kit with Spotlighting (& Giveaway)

Hi everyone!

My Simon Says Stamp April 2017 Card Kit: Wild and Colorful arrived yesterday and I had a chance to start playing with it this morning.

Here's what I came up with using this adorable kit:

I did some spotlighting by having all the stamped colour on the Kraft Mini Tag. The cute elephant was stamped on some of the yummy Lawn Fawn Perfectly Plaid Rainbow 6x6 Paper and paper pieced. For the hearts, I directly inked Neenah Solar White Cardstock with Simon's Fresh Fruit Hybrid Inks. I then stamped the outline hearts over the inked cardstock with Versafine Onyx Black Ink, cut them out, and added them to the tag. I colored in 'WILD THING' with a Prismacolor White Colored Pencil and then went over it and the hearts with a Zig Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Marker.

I don't usually do too many "cute" cards, but this is just as charming as can be. It may be that plaid is "my favorite color," ;-) but there are so many wonderful things going on. You showed off the kit nicely and I'm looking forward to more creations. Besides, you can never go wrong with kraft, bright aqua & yummy ink colors.

Love the vivid colors & that sweet plaid elephant! Spotlighting on the Kraft tag is such a clever idea. I forget about using Kraft as I automatically reach for white. Thanks for the inspiration!

Your idea of doing the elephant in the plaid,hanging off the tag is so cute! I wish my brain worked the way yours does! I love this stamp set and the rest of the kit! Seeing cards like this one makes it just that much better!

I love how you used the plaid paper to highlight the image and a couple of the hearts. I just got my kit yesterday so will be trying it out today. I think I will try this design. Thank your for sharing.!!
