SSS April Card Kit: Baby Cards (& Giveaway)

Hi everyone!

I'm stopping by to share a couple of baby cards featuring the adorable Simon Says Stamp April 2017 Card Kit: Wild and Colorful

Both of these cards have the same look and used the same technique but started out with different bases: one colored and one white.

The blue card was the first of the two I made. I white heat embossed the images on Simon's Island Blue Cardstock. I then took a Mini Ink Blending Tool and Simon's White Pigment Ink and added white to the bottom of the panel, easing up on the colour as I moved up to center of the card.

This second card was made after I had taken pictures of the first one and started my blog post. I realized that even though the April Card Kit didn't include any pink or red cardstock it did include a deep pink/ light red ink. So... I started this card with a white card base, white heart embossed the images, and applied Simon's Watermelon Hybrid Ink beginning at the top and easing off as I worked my way down.

For both cards I die cut letters from Simon's Alphabet Blocks Dies to spell 'baby', adhering them to Simon's Island Blue Cardstock for the baby boy card and a piece of inked up Neenah Solar White Cardstock for the baby girl card. These sentiment panels were then adhered to the cards with Foam Tape.

  13. I'd have never thought of using white ink like that, but what a great tip. It's amazing that the looks are so similar and you took such different paths to get there. The cards are sweet, just as I'm sure the babies are (or will be).
