Paper Craft's "Stamp It!"

Hi everyone,

Canada Post is FINALLY back up and running. Yay! Got some things OUT in the mail yesterday and also a cheque IN the mail. A good day! :)

I also ran some other errands... went to the grocery store and saw that the new 'Stamp It!' is out. I have 4 cards in this special issue and I got to visit each of them. ;) Can't wait for my copy to come in the mail so I can pour over all 300 amazing cards in there!

I thought I'd share one of my cards here:

Stamps are all Hero Arts, ribbon by American Crafts, and the red button is one of Jane B's yummy creations.

Thanks for popping by! I'm busy working on things for my son's 7th birthday party this Saturday. We're doing a space/alien theme and having lots of fun getting ready for it. :) Hope you have a wonderful day!

Summer Card Camp Winners!!!

Hi everyone,

I'm back to share the winners of the virtual seats in Jennifer McGuire and Kristina Werner's Summer Card Camp... but first I'm going to share a card I made recently. ;)

Basic Grey & Jillibean Soup papers, Silhouette pocket, PTI heart die, Twinery twine, Hero Arts stamp & pearls

I made this card for a recent call but it was left unloved. *I* still like it though and thought I'd share it here... I think the sentiment it fitting for the following three ladies who I'm sure will *enjoy* their spots in Summer Card Camp:

Wow, now that's a prize I'd love to win. I can't wait to see what you get to teach. You're going to be awesome. My favourite colour combo... Hmmm ... I love the pink/brown and blue/brown combos, but kraft is great, too.

Summer card camp sounds like fun, fun, fun! And with you as guest designer to boot - SWEET! My favourite colour combo usually involves oranges, yellows, reds and browns. Thanks for the chance to win, Kim

Big congrats, ladies!!! Please send me an email with your names and email addresses so I can pass on the info to the right people. :) If I don't hear from you by mid-night Saturday, June 25th I'll be picking a new winner(s).

Happy Father's Day

Hi everyone,

Popping in this Father's Day to share the cards I made for my Dad and my husband for Father's Day.

My Dad truly is a wonderful father who has never been afraid to tell his kids that he loves them. He's also very encouraging, telling me that I'm doing a good job as a mom. He is probably the one person who does this more than anyone else and it means so much to me and really does help keep me going. My Dad also has a way of sensing when things aren't 'good' and can draw your struggles out of you (whether you want to share or not). Hee. ;)

Anyways, before I share the card I made for him I thought I'd share my favourite picture of the 2 of us together when I was 2 yrs old.

And here's the card I made for him. The stamps are Hero Arts and the library card is really a library card. (My Mom got a bunch and gave some to me). I'm writing this post on Wednesday night and still have to get the gift card I've planned for it so I put another card in the pocket for now.

Love you Dad! Happy Father's Day!

My husband is also a wonderful father to our 4 kids. He lets them be much more daring and independent than I do, which is a good thing... gives some balance to my being over protective. ;) He's quicker to go out with ALL 4 of them than I am. He's better at tickling them and all that good stuff. He's just the dad they need. :)

Here's a picture of him with all four kids taken about 4 years ago:

Yep, we have our hands full! ;)

Here's the Father's Day card I made for him:

Thanks everyone for popping by. I hope today is a day for you to celebrate rather than one full of sadness. Thinking of those of you who don't have happy 'dad' memories or only have memories to hold onto. Hugs.

Lily Pad Cards Digital Die Cuts Challenge featuring Hero Arts!

Hi everyone,

Welcome to another Lily Pad Cards Digital Die Cuts Challenge! This month's challenge is sponsored by my favorite stamp company, Hero Arts. :)

Not only does Hero Arts makes the best quality rubber & clear stamps, they also make fabulous digital die cut images (through Silhouette) and digital stamps (sold through 2 Peas in a Bucket) based on their stamps. You can also purchase Hero Arts die cuts and printables through their online store. Hero Arts was SO generous with their digital images that it was hard to decide which ones to use. :)

To go along with the Hero Arts images, our own Vicky Papaioannou once again came up with an amazing digital die cut set for us to use for this month's challenge.

Here's my card:

Polaroid: Vicky's 'film set'; pre-coloured butterflies: Hero Arts digi-kit; stamps: Hero Arts; patterned paper: Basic Grey;

I hope you'll play along with us this month! You have until Friday June 24th to get your entries in. :) Please go and check out the Lily Pad Cards blog to see what the rest of the design team has come up with and to download Vicky's Film Set die cut kit for FREE.

As always, thanks for popping by.

Why Hello There!!!

Hi everyone!!

I feel like I've been missing in action the last little bit. First blogger was down, then I was in Buffalo for the weekend taking stamping classes from the amazing Jennifer McGuire, and finally I came home to discover our home computer wasn't working. Eek!!! As always my brilliant hubby came to the rescue and now has it (and me) up and running. :)

Anyways, I've been wanting to share the card I made for the first half of Hero Arts May challenge focusing on flowers. The background, frame, sentiment and pearls are all Hero Arts and the patterned papers are yummy My Mind's Eye: Stella and Rose.

and here's a quick pic showing the flowers in process...

I put glossy accents in the centers of the flowers and layered 4 together, scrunching them up to give them dimension. I cut some flowers in green and used individual petals for leaves.

Here's the detailed information:
HA:
Envelope Pattern
Sweet Thread Labels
Mixed Accents: Blush, Sea, Foliage
Latte Chalk Ink
Hero Arts shape for Silhouette (I used the blue flower):

Christmas Reject

Hi everyone,

Thought I'd pop by and share one of my rejects from the Paper Crafts 'Holiday Cards & More' call. I was fortunate to have some things picked up for the issue but here's my favourite reject:

I thought it'd be fun to stick a candy cane on the card and am happy with how it turned out. Part of me is glad it wasn't picked up... I'd be worrying away about the candy cane breaking in the mail or while waiting for it's picture to be taken. I've tucked it away in my stash and will be sure to give it to someone special (and local) at Christmas. I had a very different one with 2 candy canes on it that I wasn't all that thrilled with and happily took it apart so the kids could split the candy. ;)

Anyways, I'm glad it's no where near Christmas. I'm enjoying the warmth and sunshine we're FINALLY getting. Puts me in such a happy mood. :) The fact that we're down to the last few subjects with our homeschooling helps too. ;)

Hope everyone's having a great week too!
Hugs!
