Simon Says Stamp March 2014 Card Kit: Rainbow of Color! ...(and a GIVEAWAY)!

Hi everyone!

Today is release day for the Simon Says Stamp March 2014 Card Kit: Rainbow of Color! Whoo hoo!

http://www.shareasale.com/r.cfm?B=199868&U=650450&M=24698&urllink=www.simonsaysstamp.com/servlet/the-65584/march-rainbow-of-color/Detail

This month's kit just ROCKS! It includes a fun stamp set with great images and sentiments in a wonderful font. The word 'color/colour' is provided in both spellings for us non-Americans. (Thanks Kristina)! The Lawn Fawn patterned papers are yummy, the Kelly Purkey alpha stickers vibrant, the rainbow stencil adorable, and the sequins sparkly. There's also some wonderful coral Lawn Fawn twine...a whole roll! This kit is such a great deal at $24.95 + shipping for non-subscribers and $19.95 + shipping for subscribers. I have a feeling this one will sell out fast!

I've had a chance to make a couple of cards and I can't wait to play some more. Here's card number 1:

For this first card I used the Simon Says Stamp Rainbow Stencil with Versamark ink and various colors of embossing powder. I really wanted the colours to pop against the grey background. I used a dauber to apply the ink for one color of powder at a time, heat setting in between so the powders wouldn't mix. I don't have a yellow embossing powder so I used white and coloured over it with a alcohol marker. I did the same thing for the sun's rays (the sun is from the Simon Says Stamp Color and Sunshine stamp set). I just couldn't resist adding some googly eyes from my stash. :)

Card number 2:

This card is pretty self-explanatory. I stamped the crayon image (a favourite of mine!) on a number of the Lawn Fawn papers and cut them out before adhering them on my card.

Supplies:

Before I go, I have a giveaway for you thanks to sweet Heidi of Simon Says Stamp! Just leave a comment on any or all of my Simon Says Stamp March 2014 Card Kit posts by next Thursday night (February the 20th) and I'll announce a winner on the 21st!

Thanks for stopping by!

Pin-spiration!

Hi everyone!

Today I'm stopping by to share a little something I'm hoping to make a regular part of my blog. We'll see how it goes. ;) I've been finding my creative juices to be lacking the past few months and I'm hoping this little feature of mine will help me with that. Maybe it will inspire you too? :) My plan is to share a new card each week (hopefully on Tuesdays) based on a something I find on Pinterest.

Here's what inspired me this week (click picture to see pin):

I seem to be drawn to gray paired with a single colour and the chevrons made me think of the Simon Says Stamp Full Card Chevron die.

Here's my card:

I colored the chevron pieces using Hero Arts dye inks and an alcohol marker (for the lightest grey).

If you're inspired by this sneaker to make a card I'd love to see it! :)

Thanks so much for stopping by!

P.S. If you've sent me friend requests on facebook in order to keep up with my blog posts I now have a page for that. Feel free to 'like' me over there. ;)

Hexegon Birthday (and Garage Sale Update)

Hi everyone,

Practical Solutions for Paper Crafters, Vol. 2

I'm popping by today to share a card I have published in Paper Crafts Practical Solutions Volume 2 and also to let you know that I've added a few things to my Garage Sale Page. If you looked through the items when I updated it last month you'll be happy to know that the newly listed items are in bold. :) I'm going to try and tame my stamp supplies a little bit and the least "painful" way for me to do it is to try and list a dozen or so new things each month or two. That's the goal anyways. ;)

Now on to my card:

I used the Simon Says Stamp Full Card Hexagon Die for the background. It's a great way to use some scraps of patterned paper. I also used the Simon Says Stamp 2 Tier Folded Banner Die wit some Hero Arts Carnation Layering Paper and folded it so the color was in the background, giving a bit of a shadowed look.
