Simon Says Stamp March Card Kit: Dad

Hi everyone,

I'm back to share another card using the fabulous Simon Says Stamp March 2015 Card Kit: Classic Beauty.

The first 2 cards I shared focused on the beautiful stamp set designed for this month's kit called Flowers on my Mind. For today's card I didn't use any of the stamps but focused on the papers, die, and Liquid Pearls to make a masculine card. I love that this month's colors work great for both women and men.

Here's my card:

I die cut Simon's new Medium Dot Line Die twice from Simon's Fog Cardstock, backed it with Simon's Smoke cardstock, and added Liquid Pearl dots to all the centers. I cut a strip of Crafter's Companion Yellow Pearl Cardstock and adhered it to the left of the dots. I then diecut 2 of Simon's Large Tags (one from Authentique patterned paper from the kit and one from the Smoke cardstock). I mixed some of the Liquids Pearls with water in my Mini Mister and spritzed the Fog tag with it. Once dried I diecut some of the circles at the bottom and adhered the tags to the panel. I then diecut Simon's 'Dad' and some stars using Simon's Holiday Shapes Dies and adhered them in place. Finally, I adhered my panel to a notecard made from Simon's Black Cardstock.

My "favorite color" is plaid (ha!), so my eye went right to that, even though most of it is covered up. I really like the grunged-up tag. You definitely have a very steady hand with the Liquid Pearls--I'd have sworn they were from a sheet of embellishments. Some dad is going to love getting this. What a wonderful combination of colors, patterns, layout & diecuts. Magnificent!

What a Handsome card! Perfect for a Dad or any guy. Especially like the liquids pearls and water in the mister to add tone on tone to the grey tag he three circles at the bottom to let that pattern shine through.
