Simon Says Stamp Joy to the World Card, Giveaway, and New Knitting Affiliate

Hi everyone!

I'm back to share another card made using the fabulous new Simon Says Stamp December 2015 Card Kit: Gifts of Love

DEC-CK-600 R
I'm loving the red/aqua colour combination and it's perfect for Christmas! Simon's Gifts of Love Stamp Set is absolutely adorable! I'm also excited about the TWO packs of Jillibean Soup Adhesive Back Sequins that come in the kit and the Simon Says Stamp Rainbow Sparkle Embossing Powder. The Pinkfresh Studio puffy stickers and patterned papers are fun and whimsical...and Simon even included a mini Versamark Ink pad!

Here's the card I'm sharing today:

I felt like I was making a statement with this card. The red and white patterned paper in the background includes terms related to a more commercialized view of Christmas while the patterned paper I have front and center speaks of the true meaning of Christmas: 'Joy to the World'...the LORD has come! I emphasized the 'Joy to the World' by drawing over it with a Versamark Watermark Embossing Pen before heat embossing it with Simon's Rainbow Embossing Glitter. I then added some of the Jillibean Soup Red Raspberry Self Adhesive Sequins and teal stars from the Pinkfresh Studio Christmas Wishes Puff Stickers. I matted this front die cut square panel with Simon's Black Cardstock (also cut using one of Simon's Stitched Squares Dies). I then used White Fun Foam to give it some dimension before adhering it to the red and white Pinkfresh Studio Christmas Wishes Paper (which was die cut with the rectangle from Simon's Bundle of Stitches Dies). The card base was made using some of Simon's Fog Cardstock.

Before I go, I wanted to mention to any knitters out there that I've just become an affiliate with Knit Picks! They have a HUGE selection of yarns, patterns, tools, etc. At the moment they have a sale running with 85% off over 700 yarns! Sale ends November 23rd at 11:59 pm PST. I've been waiting for them to restock their Felici Rainbow Sock Yarn (pictured above, not on sale) for quite some time and it's back!!! I've placed my order and can't wait to get knitting again! Their shipping to Canada is very reasonable. Yay! I just started knitting a year ago and have a couple of pairs of socks: some other rainbow socks and some knee highs. I'm hoping to making a scarf and hat with this beautiful Felici Rainbow Sock Yarn...and some more socks if I have enough left over. :) I'll try and remember to share my progress here from time to time (if anyone is interested).

Thanks for stopping by!
Sarah

I like how you blended the 2 together. And also how you used a busier background paper and made the focal point stand out.

Sweet Sarah! How do you take simple things from the kit every month and make them look like $100 bucks? I want to craft with you. LOL It might cut down on the amount of stamps and dies I buy. ha ha Beautiful Card, thanks, Paulette S.
