Scraps

Just using up some scraps today. Often while working on a card or layout I'll change my mind about something I stamped or cut out or I'll have extras of something and end up putting them in a music box I have that plays my favourite hymn, 'Great is Thy Faithfulness.' Every once and a while I'll go through the box and try to use up some of the scraps. Today was great because as I was organizing them a couple of my kids came in and asked for some of them. Yay! ;)

Anyways, here's what I came up with using a few of the scraps...  I promise, no new papers were hurt in the making of these cards. ;)

Hope everyone's having a great weekend. I think as summer draws to a close and school is about to beginning (in just over a week), I'm reflecting on what a great summer we've had with the kids. I'm pretty sure we checked all the items off my 'summer bucket list'. A few weeks ago my 6 year old asked us why we were having such a fun summer this year! Hee hee. Might have something to do with the fact that my hubby didn't spend most of it on the roof. ;)

Friendly Spiders

I just had to break into the new stamps I got yesterday. Even though we don't do Halloween around our house I still had some ideas for the new Hero Arts Large Web stamp. I cut out a few different spiders with my Silhouette and paired the web stamp with 2 other background stamps to give 2 different looks. Used some sewing thread to hang the spider from and added some googly eyes. The message is computer generated.

I'm entering these in Hero Art's Keeping in Touch challenge and planning on using them for Jennifer McGuire's Cards for Kids Drive.

Hero Arts CHA prize package! WOW!

Just got my prize pack from 2 Peas in a Bucket and Hero Arts for participating in the 2 Peas/Hero Arts online chat during CHA. Nichol Magouirk hosted it and picked me as the random winner. All I can say is WOW (and thank you!) So, so generous. Way more than I expected, but then Hero Arts is like that. :)

Happiness is...

being able to see what you're doing.

Here's a layout about when my son Chris first got his glasses and just how helpful they were to him with school work. His prescription is VERY strong. When he first got them he would stare at the lines between the fake tile in out kitchen. I'm pretty sure he had never seen them before that!

Journaling reads: Before you had your glasses you would get tired of practising your letters after only a few minutes. The 1st 2 days you had them you were practising for hours.

I'm entering this into the Hero Arts Back to School challenge.

I'm not adventurous....

I'm not a risk-taker... I don't like to spend money (unless it's craft related)... I like to keep me feet planted firmly on the ground.

Fortunately, my dear husband is quite the opposite and so ...

Last weekend he dragged me kicking and screaming (no lie) to Ottawa for his cousin's wedding. I have no problem what so ever with his cousin, the bride, or Ottawa. I do like to keep my feet planted on the ground though, remember? Steve prefers to have his head in the clouds...

Here was the view:

                                                (the Niagara Escarpment)

                                                           (Toronto)

                                                         (Ontario Place)

                                             (me enjoying some turbulence)

(wedding reception, feet planted on the ground, my handsome man beside me)

                                             (Steve`s Uncle and Aunt`s place)

(Toronto`s Roger`s Stadium and the CN Tower, baseball game going on)

(soccer game at the BMO stadium)

(Our mode of transportation for the weekend)

Thanks hon, for forcing me to step out of my comfort zone once in a while. It was worth it. :)

Hello!!!

Quick post today as I have lots to do. Hero Arts August challenge is focusing on Keeping in Touch, Back to School, and stationery. I tried to combine all three themes in my first card and focused on Keeping in Touch with the other two.

Take care, everyone! Happy August! :)

DCVW Green Card Set

Just popping it for quick share today. I'm trying to use up some older product (so I can justify getting some new stuff). ;) I used some DCWV Green Stack to make a set of cards for my sister for her birthday. I included a few sentiments but I kept most of them blank so she could use them for any occasion. Sorry this is so picture heavy.

Hope everyone has had a great weekend. :)
