Lily Pad Cards Digital Die Cuts Challenge featuring Hero Arts!

Hi everyone,

Welcome to another Lily Pad Cards Digital Die Cuts Challenge! This month's challenge is sponsored by my favorite stamp company, Hero Arts. :)

Not only does Hero Arts makes the best quality rubber & clear stamps, they also make fabulous digital die cut images (through Silhouette) and digital stamps (sold through 2 Peas in a Bucket) based on their stamps. You can also purchase Hero Arts die cuts and printables through their online store. Hero Arts was SO generous with their digital images that it was hard to decide which ones to use. :)

To go along with the Hero Arts images, our own Vicky Papaioannou once again came up with an amazing digital die cut set for us to use for this month's challenge.

Here's my card:

Polaroid: Vicky's 'film set'; pre-coloured butterflies: Hero Arts digi-kit; stamps: Hero Arts; patterned paper: Basic Grey;

I hope you'll play along with us this month! You have until Friday June 24th to get your entries in. :) Please go and check out the Lily Pad Cards blog to see what the rest of the design team has come up with and to download Vicky's Film Set die cut kit for FREE.

As always, thanks for popping by.

Why Hello There!!!

Hi everyone!!

I feel like I've been missing in action the last little bit. First blogger was down, then I was in Buffalo for the weekend taking stamping classes from the amazing Jennifer McGuire, and finally I came home to discover our home computer wasn't working. Eek!!! As always my brilliant hubby came to the rescue and now has it (and me) up and running. :)

Anyways, I've been wanting to share the card I made for the first half of Hero Arts May challenge focusing on flowers. The background, frame, sentiment and pearls are all Hero Arts and the patterned papers are yummy My Mind's Eye: Stella and Rose.

and here's a quick pic showing the flowers in process...

I put glossy accents in the centers of the flowers and layered 4 together, scrunching them up to give them dimension. I cut some flowers in green and used individual petals for leaves.

Here's the detailed information:
HA:
Envelope Pattern
Sweet Thread Labels
Mixed Accents: Blush, Sea, Foliage
Latte Chalk Ink
Hero Arts shape for Silhouette (I used the blue flower):

Christmas Reject

Hi everyone,

Thought I'd pop by and share one of my rejects from the Paper Crafts 'Holiday Cards & More' call. I was fortunate to have some things picked up for the issue but here's my favourite reject:

I thought it'd be fun to stick a candy cane on the card and am happy with how it turned out. Part of me is glad it wasn't picked up... I'd be worrying away about the candy cane breaking in the mail or while waiting for it's picture to be taken. I've tucked it away in my stash and will be sure to give it to someone special (and local) at Christmas. I had a very different one with 2 candy canes on it that I wasn't all that thrilled with and happily took it apart so the kids could split the candy. ;)

Anyways, I'm glad it's no where near Christmas. I'm enjoying the warmth and sunshine we're FINALLY getting. Puts me in such a happy mood. :) The fact that we're down to the last few subjects with our homeschooling helps too. ;)

Hope everyone's having a great week too!
Hugs!
