This, That and the Other Thing :)

I'm stopping in again to mention a couple of new things I came across today...

First, this ---> MFT is having a BIG sale on Dies and Combo sets and well as Stamp Sets! Between 50-75% off certain items! Yay!

Also, that ----> Simon Says Stamp now has the new Hero Arts Holiday 2013 stamps in stock! Whoo hoo! I'm making my list, checking it twice. ;)

Simon Says Stamp September 2013 Card Kit: 40th Anniversary Card

Hi everyone!

I hope your week is going well! We've got the house up for sale and still have a few minor fixer-uper jobs to do. The kids and I will be running away to my parents' place tomorrow so the house here can actually stay clean and my hubby can get some of the smaller jobs done. We're REALLY hoping it sells quickly so life can go back to being somewhat normal before we move. ;)

Speaking of my parents, they will be celebrating their 40th anniversary in a couple of weeks! Here is the card I plan to give them using the Simon Says Stamp September 2013 Card Kit and some great Simon Says Stamp dies. (No stamping on this card).

Simply Lovely (Simon Says Stamp September 2013 Card Kit)

Hi everyone,

I'm here again to share another card using the Simon Says Stamp September Card Kit: Journey of Life.

I'm having so much fun with this kit. I love the soft colors paired with the bold black and white chalkboard look and the fun wood veneer shapes. I can't wait to play around with the flower stamps!

For today I decided to make a baby boy card using the 'simply lovely' sentiment printed on one of the patterned papers that came with the kit, one of the little sail boats, and some Simon Says Stamp dies.

I just had to break out my Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Marker again for the word 'lovely.'

Secondly, here's another card using the Simon Says Stamp September Card Kit:

For this card, I colored in a few of the banners with my Inktense pencil crayons to add a few pops of color. For the greeting, I stamped part of it directly on the black background and stamped the rest of it on some patterned paper, then traced it with the stencil from the kit before cutting it out and adding it to the card. Such a fun metal bike that comes with the kit!

I love how perfectly the little nested circles stamp fit inside the white dots of the patterned paper. I thought the happy colors from the inks and watercolor pencils worked well with the sentiment and contrasted the black/white/grey well. I added a little Wink of Stella clear glitter marker to the word 'happy' to really make it pop. It also helped blend the pencil strokes.

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge: Triangles! ...and a goodbye.

Welcome back for this week's Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge!

This week's challenge focuses on something super trendy right now: TRIANGLES!!! The design team is featuring product from The Crafter's Workshop (who makes fabulous dies and templates)!

Here's my card:

 

For my card I used the Mini Kaleidoscope (triangles) template to dry emboss my white background using the instructions I shared HERE. I then used the stencil to trace triangles onto various pieces of patterned paper before cutting them out and adhering them to my card.

I'm sad to say this will be my last week as a DT member of the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge. I've been taking on more duties in different areas of my life over the past year and we are also working like crazy to get our house ready to sell. Between those 2 things something had to give. Unfortunately this is that something. :( I will continue to work with Simon Says Stamp in my role as Card Kit Artist so I hope you'll continue to stop by.

Simon Says *Kids* join... Back to School Challenge

YAY !! It's time for our Annual Summer Children's Challenge !! Woo Hoo !!

School has broken up for the summer and it is nice for our children to get crafty so this challenge is especially for them.

The theme for this challenge is ,,,

ANYTHING GOES,,, with the optional extra of ICE

ice cream, ice lollies, ice cubes, ice skating ,,, snow, snowflakes ,,,

Entrants must be between 2 and 16 years old
