Simon Says Stamp Gratitude Blog Hop!

*** If you're looking for my Simon Says Stamp Challenge card please scroll down***

Hello crafters!   What are you thankful for?  This time of year we count our blessings and the things we are grateful for. I'm so very grateful for so many things: Christ's sacrifice for me, my husband, kids, and extended family. I'm grateful for good friends who love me just the way I am. I'm also grateful for all of you who stop by and visit my blog. Thank you!

If you've been following along the Simon Says Stamp Gratitude Blog Hop you should be arriving from extremely talented and super sweet Jennifer McGuire's blog. If you're just joining us please start HERE.

Here are a couple of cards I made to say 'Thank You' for some recent acts of kindness shown to me. The first one is going to my dearest friend who knew how much I needed an extra little love on my birthday a couple weeks ago. The other is for our pastor and his wife for having a group of us homeschooling parents and our kids over for a hot dog roast, s'mores, and a treasure hunt through the woods by their house. It was so thoughtful of them and the kids had a blast! :)

For this first card I used one of the label dies from the Simon Says Stamp Apothecary Labels set to die cut different patterned papers to create my own patterned background. (It kind of reminds me of quilt.) I used a stamp from the coordinating stamp set for my sentiment. The great thing about these products is that they can be bought separately or at a discounted rate together as a bundle.

For this second card I used the same stamp and die set as above along with Simon Says Stamp's Curvy Snowflake die, Simon Says Stamp's Folded Banner die, and few other dies. Everything is linked below.

Thanks to Simon Says Stamp I will be giving away a $50 donation to the charity of one commenter's choice.  Just leave a comment with what you are most grateful for and you will be entered in the drawing.  After the winner is chosen Simon Says Stamp will be in touch with you to find out the charity you have chosen.  We will draw winners on Wednesday 11/28.

Also, this Friday Simon Says Stamp will offer a Black Friday discount code to its customers for 35% off selected items in the store. But blog hoppers get the code early for stopping by my blog!  Click here to see the items that are included in the sale. Enter SIMONBF35 in the Promotion Code box (be sure to use all CAPS) and you will get 35% off of those items. Happy Shopping!

Thanks for visiting! The next stop in the Simon Says Stamp Gratitude Blog Hop is the amazing Kathy Racoosin. If while hopping, you encounter a broken link, you can go back to the beginning for links to everyone who is participating in the hop.

I love the interesting background with the apothecary labels on the first card.

Being on the East Coast I am thankful that my family and property was spared from serious damage due to Sandy. I had a car windshield smashed, but compared to others that is lucky. So many people are still recouping and my thoughts are with them as they are rebuilding during this holiday.

I love the way you complement different pattern papers together. :) And yes, it reminds me of how I should be grateful if I have a genuine friend. Like the saying goes : "One loyal friend is worth one thousand relatives". Hence, I thank God for giving me nice people who cross my path of life; and not to forget, importantly, it is my family members who will walk through my whole life with me, support me and be there for me, all ways, and always. :)
Thanks for allowing us to have a chance to do a good deed indirectly, and thanks SSS for organising such a meaning blog hop. :)

Very nicely done. I'm commenting after Thanksgiving and am reminded how much I cherish visiting my family members--especially my 5-year old niece who was a "late" addition to the family circle and brings us joy beyond belief. How grateful I am to live in a country that provides so many opportunities and freedoms.

I am most thankful for the patience & resolve my husband has shown this last year. Earlier in the year he experienced a work related injury, injuring his back. Surgery was unsuccessful and he has suffered daily ever since. Still, he doesn't let it get to him. He takes it all in stride, hoping & praying for pain free days. Not sure I could be as strong as him with all that he’s been through. I’m thankful for my strong man.

A few weeks ago there were big floods in our country and many people lost everything they had, so in that moments you learn to cherish every little thing you have, because you know there are so many in need out there. So I’m thankful for everyone that helped those who were affected by the disasters, it gave me hope that we can still find unity in these hard times.

Seriously!? These cards are A-MA-ZING!!! I LOVE how you used the label die to make the first card...and I wish I had a quilt just like that! :) So pretty. And I'm sure your pastor and his wife loved the card...they're probably planning another event, just so they can have another one of your cards. I know that's what I'd be doing ;)
