Hi everyone,
Have you seen the new Simon Says Stamp "In Stitches" mini-release?
It may be mini in size but this release has maximum potential! There are SO many different ways to use the new dies!
Here's the full In Stitches Release:
Today I'm sharing a couple of shaker cards.
Because of the framed nature of these stitched dies (when left as they come or when using 2 dies together) there is room for foam adhesive along the bottoms of the die cut pieces...which means they are perfect for all sorts of unique shaker card ideas!
My first card has 3 separate shaker compartments...
...and my second card has a shaker within a shaker...
I have SO many ideas swimming around in my head with these new In Stitches dies. I can't wait to play with them some more. :)
UPDATE: I was asked for more details on how I made my shaker elements. :) First I die cut and clear heat embossed (the sentiments for) the front panels of my cards. I then cut a Hero Arts Acetate Notecard at the fold line (so I then had two pieces) and trimmed them down a little before adhering them to the backs of my stamped and diecut panels. Next, I adhered the die cut Stitched Circles to the front of the panels with adhesive runner. I then flipped the panels over so I was working on the back sides. I cut thin stripes of foam tape and lined ALL of the die cut edges with it (anywhere you see "stitching" there is foam adhesive). I then added my sequins where I wanted them. The tricky part was adding my card bases while the front panels were still faced down so the sequins would stay in place. I actually lifted them up above my head so I could see what I was doing, lol. I made sure to gently but firmly press down where all the foam adhesive was so that everything stuck well and there would be no sequin escapees. ;) I hope that was clear. I'm not always the best at explaining things so if anyone have any other questions please feel free to ask them. :)
Supplies:
Thank so much for stopping by! I'll be back Saturday to announce the winner of the Simon Says Stamp December Card Kit (and possibly share a card set made using some more of the new In Stitches release).
