Congrats, Marcie! Please email me with your shipping info so I can pass it on to Simon. :)
Earlier this month, after participating in the Simon Says Stamp You Have My Heart Blog Hop, I decided to come up with different ways of using Simon's new Stepping Stones Background Stamp. Besides my blog hop post (embossed resist and colouring in the circles), I shared ideas HERE (making windows) and HERE (embellishing inside the circles with buttons, brads, sequins, etc).
For today's card, I decided to die cut shapes inside the circles and back them with patterned paper. Alternatively, you could just put die cut shapes on top of the stamped panel.
First I heat embossed the Stepping Stones image onto Neenah 110 LB Smooth Solar White Cardstock. I then die cut stars using Simon's Large Holiday Shapes Dies into the centers of the heat embossed circles. I die cut this panel as well as a piece of Lawn Fawn woodgrain patterned paper, using one of Simon's Stitched Rectangles Dies. I used papers from Various 6x6 Paper Pads to back the negative die cut stars before adhering this panel to the woodgrain panel on an angle. I then adhered this to a card made from Neenah Desert Storm Cardstock. Using Simon's Dark Chocolate Cardstock, I die cut the 'Happy' from Simon's Happy Birthday Die three times, layered the pieces and adhered the sentiment to my card. I white heat embossed the rest of the sentiment from Simon's Happy Stamp Set onto a strip of orange cardstock, adhered it to the card, and finished it off with some yellow Enamel Dots.
