Simon Says Stamp has a special blog post to celebrate World Cardmaking Day and I'm honoured to have been asked to contribute a card to represent Canada. Here's the card I have up on Simon's blog featuring Simon's Kaleidoscope Background Stamp:
I stamped the Kaleidoscope Background Stamp with Simon's White Pigment Ink onto Neenah Desert Storm Cardstock. After heat setting the image I coloured it in with Prismacolor Pencils, choosing to use traditional Christmas colours. This is a great way to make any patterned backgound fit a particular holiday. I then flicked some gold Gansai Tambi Watercolor over the card front. I die cut some Neenah White Cardstock using Simon's Nested Circle Dies, a piece of vellum using their Funky Snowflake Die, and a piece of red fun foam using the Merry and Bright Die Set and layered them on the card. The little 'christmas' sentiment is from Simon's Holiday Envelope Sentiments Stamps. I finished the card off with some Gold Stickles.
I also have a bonus card to share with you today:
I used the same Kaleidoscope Background Stamp (turned 90 degrees) for this card. I gold heat embossing the image on watercolour paper. I then painted the design with Gansai Tambi Watercolors, diecut the bottom of the panel with one of Simon's Drifting Stitches Borders Dies, and adhered the panel to a piece Neenah Desert Storm Cardstock. Simon's Kate Snowflake Die was cut from vellum and 'Christmas' from their Happy Winter Die Set was cut from metallic gold paper. The heat embossed 'Merry' is from Simon's Happy Christmas Stamp Set. I finished the card off with some of Lucy's Gold Dust Sequin Mix.

I absolutely love how you used this stamp, Sarah! I just bought the Kaleidoscope Leaves stamp from SS and I'm hoping, when it arrives to try your idea with it. Thanks for the inspiration.
