It was quite the weekend here with a 34 hr power outage. Our whole town was basically shut down: grocery store, post office, everything! Fortunately we have a generator so we didn't lose any food and our house stayed warm. Unfortunately our sump pump wasn't working and more than half our basement was flooded. I spent most of Monday sucking water out of the carpeting downstairs.
With that said, I'm glad to finally be here to share some cards featuring the beautiful Simon Says Stamp May Card Kit: Kind Heart!
Here are three monochromatic cards I created with Simon's May Card Kit:
For these first cards I used the green and yellow ombre patterned papers from the Pinkfresh Let Your Heart Decide 6x6 papers. I diecut them with the rectangle from Simon's Bundle of Stitches Die Set, white heat embossed the floral image and sentiment from Simon's new Take Heart Stamp Set, and added an image each from the Pinkfresh Let Your Heart Decide Puffy Stickers. I adhered the yellow panel to one of Simon's Smoke Scored Cards and the green panel to a notecard made from Simon's Ivory Cardstock.
For this next card I white heart embossed a sentiment from Simon's new Everything Together Stamp Set on a piece of Simon's Audrey Blue Cardstock that was diecut with one of Simon's Stitched Rectangles. I used an ink blending tool to add some of Simon's Spring Rain Hybrid Ink to the bottom of the panel, added some Pinkfresh Let You Heart Decide Puffy Stickers and Epoxy Heart Stickers, and adhered the panel to Simon's Smoke Scored Card.

I love the sentiment stamp set in this kit!
I cannot imagine being without any electricity for such a long time. Thank goodness you have a generator and it sounds as if you managed to do some damage control on Monday. I'm happy to managed to create a few cards after all this. I am totally loving the look of those first 2 cards.
Ooh, Sarah, I am so sorry for your flood. I hope your scrap stuff was safe! We used to live in a house where the sump would go out during a heavy rain and flood our basement.....thank goodness we moved from there (NO basement in our current house---LOL)! Anyway, your cards are beautiful and I really the the embossed white with a monochromatic look! Thanks for the inspiration!
Gorgeous cards. Love that ombre effect on the papers. Hugz
Glad things are okay after the basement flooding, with that said you managed to make some fabulous cards!
Glad your electricity is back on! So sorry that your sump pump went out; what a mess that would be. Love your cards and the SSS card kit is really fabulous.
Oh no, Sarah! I'm sorry to hear about your power outage, but even more so the water in your basement. The same has happened to me in the past, so I feel your pain. I don't know how you made time to create cards, but they are beautiful! Especially love the teacup cards with their interesting backgrounds.
Sorry to hear about your terrible weekend. I’m amazed you had time to create these beautiful cards. Love the ombré papers you used.
Sorry you had so many problems. I hope things turn around quickly. One reason I love this new kit is the ability to make fast but fabulous cards. Thanks for the examples.
Http://eclecticendeavours.blogspot.com had a rough time with the storm too! Couldn’t leave the house for the entire weekend! Good thing we had enough food! Very pretty cards.
What fun cards! I can think of a few ladies I wish I lived closer to so we could stamp together. What a great sentiment!! Thanks for the chance to win.
Beautiful cards! This kit is gorgeous! Love the stamp! Thanks for the opportunity to win.
So sorry to hear about your unfortunate weekend. It's great that you bounced back so quickly. Thanks for sharing these awesome cards. I initially thought you used a background stamp to create a pattern on the first card. I love that effect.
Wonderful sentiment set in this kit. Love your monochromatic cards.
Loving those first two cards and how the paper does all the work for you. This is such a great kit - I am really loving the sentiment set!
Hope you are in a drier environment when this gets to you, and hope damage was minimal, so destructive the weather at times.x Your cards are stunning using the ombre used like that and the last card is a great friend card, that sentiment is fabulous x Thanks for ideas from the kit x
Glad you finally have power, Sarah, & that not much was hurt. I lived in a town where the bridges were both washed out during a flood & we had no electricity for 2 whole months! We had wood heat & a gas range so was ok & interesting. Glad I don't have to do that now. easier when young! Your monochromatic cards are right up my alley. Love them! And the awesome sentiment on your last cards is perfect!
I love your gorgeous cards! Those ombre papers are fabulous with your white embossing! I feel your pain on the power outage. We didn't have any outages lately but last month we lost it for over 24 hours. Good for you with the generator - it must make the outages much more bearable. So sorry about your flooded basement. What a mess it must have been. Let's hope for spring weather!

So funny, was just reading your post to work out how you did those rectangle shapes on your cards, and read it was patterned paper!! It looks so cool and now has me thinking how I can create that look myself..... And your third card has the most beautiful background colour. I think that sentiment is my favourite ever, as there are so many people I could send this too!!!!
Beautiful cards and what a fab kit! Your flood sounds awful, hope things are improving.
Both cards are so pretty love who you stamped the first backgrounds. So pretty design too.
My sympathy to you on your flooding experience. Been there, done that, and it’s not fun. I hope you recover with minimal damage. I am so impressed that you were able to make these great cards in spite of everything else you had going on. That’s true dedication. I have to say that I am loving the color scheme of this month’s kit. I am going to have to try it out on my next card.
They are gorgeous monochromatic cards.
