I think this one would work well as both a masculine and feminine birthday card. I love the classy feel the heat embossing gives it.

Simon Says Stamp December 2014 Card Kit

Hi everyone,

I'm stopping by today to share a couple of cards using the newly released Simon Says Stamp December 2014 Card Kit: Winter Twinkle.

This month's kit is unique in that it's themed around a technique (heat embossing) as opposed to a holiday (Christmas) or item (such as coffee). The kit comes with a Tim Holtz Mini Distress Embossing Ink cube and TWO different containers of GORGEOUS Ranger embossing powders! Let me know if there are any special heat embossing techniques you want me to share or try with this kit!

Here are my cards for today:

First a shaker card...

I heat embossed the sentiment on some of the vellum and sewed another piece on back (with sequins from the kit scattered in between). I then die cut a circle out of the front of my card front, adhered the vellum piece in place, and added another piece of cardstock with a circle cut out of it to the back of my card front to keep things looking clean. :) Finally, I heat embossed the triangular border twice on the bottom of my card.

For my second card, I heat embossed the wonderful Ranger Enchanted Gold embossing powder on the Bazzill silver cardstock using the polka dot patterned stamp. I continued that pattern on the Soft Navy cardstock using just the Distress Embossing Ink for a tone on tone effect. (For some reason my camera didn't pick this up at the bottom of the card but I promise you it's there). The sentiment and banners were both heat embossed using the Ranger Liquid Platinum embossing powder (my absolute favourite embossing powder).

Neat and Tangled Little Tangles Color Combo Challenge
