Paper Smooches Shaker Cards

Hi everyone,

I recently got my hands on some new Paper Smooches goodies and have been having a fun time playing with them. I made a few shaker cards the other day using the Bold Buzzwords Stamp Set and the Deco Bag Die along with a variety of sequins and Studio Calico Wood veneer pieces.

First an anniversary (or wedding) card that I'm entering in the current Paper Smooches Sparks Challenge:

Here's a girly birthday card...though now that I think of it this could be used as a baby card too!

Finally, another birthday card. For the background of this one I die cut the Hero Arts Triangle Background Die and used it as a stencil on my card base. I then used my Distress Markers and Distress Marker Spritzer to create a rainbow of triangles before removing the stencil and adding my little bag of goodies. :)

Supplies:

These were SO fun to make and I can't wait to make more. :)
Thanks for stopping by!

Simon Says Stamp! Christmas in August challenge

Photobucket

Hi everyone,

I'm excited to share that I'll be guest designing for the Simon Says Stamp! Challenge Blog this month. :) I love the good people of Simon Says Stamp! and their amazing customer service. They have the BEST shipping rates to Canada and go the extra mile to make their customers happy. Can't beat that. :)

This week's challenge (#119) is Christmas in August. If you make your own Christmas cards this is a great time to get started... helps do away with some of the stress come December. ;) Even better, you could win a $50 shopping spree with Simon Says Stamp! Someone will definitely get to celebrate Christmas early. ;)

Here's my Christmas card:

I cut a piece of Eggshell Layering paper slightly smaller than the notecard. I stamped it with the Envelop Pattern using the Shadow ink and distressed the edges with Frayed Burlap Distress Ink. I stamped the tree and sentiment using Walnut Stain ink and embellished the tree with various Dots from Hero Arts. A small twine bow at the base of the tree and it's done.

Here is a list of the supplies I used (all Hero Arts unless otherwise noted):

- Envelop Pattern
- Merry Christmas Trees
- Swirl Tree
- Holiday Mixed Notecards
- Eggshell Layering Paper
- Soft Sand Shadow Ink
- Blush Dots
- Sea Dots
- Foliage Dots
- Walnut Stain Distress Ink (Ranger)
- Frayed Burlap Distress Ink (Ranger)

Please pop over to the Simon Says Stamp! Challenge Blog to see what all the wonderful designers have come up with and to get all the challenge details. Just click the blinkie below. :)

Feeling blue...

Hi everyone,

Popping in real quick to share an "overlooked card" that I submitted to the latest Paper Crafts call (for their January/ February 2012 issue). One of the categories was for 'blue' cards. I only made one card for this catty but was really happy with it. In fact it was my favourite of the ones I submitted over all. I do have 3 projects in this issue so keep your eyes open for it. ;)

Anyways, here's my card:

I had fun embellishing all the butterflies that were die cut from My Mind's Eye Stella & Rose papers and like how they look against the gray background...

Hope everyone has a happy day. I'm hoping to get some housework done, do some organizing, and spend some good time with the kids.

Rejects!!

I'm joining in on Dr. Amber's 'Reject' blog hop from the latest Paper Crafts call (for their September/October issue). I submitted 6 cards and had 1 picked up. Funny thing is it was my last minute 'lets add one more' card and is probably the one I was the least satisfied with. I guess beauty truly is in the eye of the beholder. Anyways, I'll share a few of the 'rejects' here. All the cards I made were for the 'Creating with Canvas' call.

Here they are:

There are a couple more but I'm going to hold onto them for a bit and maybe resubmit them. ;)

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

More Thinking Inking

Just sharing two more cards made for Jennifer McGuire's Thinking Inking class. The first one was made last week when the focus was on embossing powders...

I clear embossed Hero Arts Flourish Pine stamp on some BG patterned paper and went over the whole image with distress ink.

This second card was made for this (the 4th) week of the Holiday Thinking Inking class which is focusing on using acrylic paint...

I inked up the Stunning Snowflake and sentiment stamps with my Gold Paint Dabber. Once the snowflake image was dry I went over it with distress inks.

Thanks for looking!
