Simon Says Stamp: Get In Shape! Challenge

Hi everyone,

How are you enjoying Autumn? It's by far my favourite season of the year. I love the colourful leaves, sweaters, and hot apple cider. So cozy. :)

I'm back today with another Simon Says Stamp Challenge!!!

Today's challenge is to make a shaped card and I decided to make a rainbow scene using my Silhouette for the clouds and circle dies for the rainbow. I know it's not really an Autumn-themed card but makes me think of my second favourite season, Spring. :)

This is what I used to make my card:

I hope you'll join us in this week's challenge! Up for grabs once again is a $50 gift voucher for the Simon Says Stamp store. For all the details and to see what the other designers have come up with go HERE.

Simon Says Stamp Autumn Leaves Challenge

Hi everyone!

Welcome to another Simon Says Stamp Challenge!!!

Today's challenge is one that 'warms' my heart: Autumn Leaves! I LOVE Fall. It's my favourite season of the year. It's time to get cozy, put on a sweater, and drink some tea or hot apple cider. Mmmm.

Here`s my card for this week's challenge:

I opened up my Mister Huey's and dabbed some on my craft sheet and from there painted the leaf. I was impressed with just how opaque the paint was on the kraft cardstock and also how well the colors blended. I'll definitely be doing this again!

Here's what I used to make this card:

I hope you'll join us for this week's challenge! Up for grabs is a $50 gift voucher for the Simon Says Stamp store thanks to sweet Heidi! For all the details and to see what the other designers have come up with go HERE.

Simon Says Stamp: Eerie Pinterest Board Challenge

Hi everyone,

I'm back with another Simon Says Stamp Challenge!!!

Today's challenge is an inspiration challenge based on this Eerie Pinterest Board our own Joy Taylor came up with:

Joy's Eerie Pinterest Board

I LOVE that house! :) This week the design team is using products from American Crafts. For my card, I took inspiration from the colors found in the candies. My choice of background paper was inspired by the vintage dress pattern paper in the bottom left corner.

Here`s my card:

I colored some of the American Craft/ Amy Tangerine fabric stickers with distress inks (the solid black which was cut in half and used in two areas and also the purple floral piece) to better go with my color combination.

This is what I used:

Hero Arts/Basic Grey Lucille Stamps

Hi everyone!

I'm back today with a final card for my Hero Arts blog week. I've really enjoyed showcasing some wonderful new Hero Arts products. I'd say 99% of the cards I make in general have Hero Arts products on them somewhere but it was fun to make a full week out of it. :)

So did you come here today expecting another Christmas card? ;) I thought today I'd share a card using a new non-Christmas related line. The card I made for today features two stamps from the new Lucille line that was done in conjunction with Basic Grey. The papers in this line are wonderful, earthy colors. The fun thing about stamps is that you can use whatever colors you like. :)

Don't forget about my little giveaway:

In celebration of all things Hero Arts and seeing that I've also just reached 100 followers with my 'new' blog I'm doing a little giveaway. :) On Monday, October 15th I'll post ONE winner who can choose TWO Hero Arts Stamps of their liking (either cling, clear, or 1 of each). I'll order them through Simon Says Stamp and have them sent out to the winner. :) Sound good? All you have to do is leave a comment on one of my Hero Arts posts this week: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, or Friday. I would also appreciate it if you followed my blog if you aren't already but I won't make you. ;) All comments left before midnight EST Sunday, October 14th are eligible.

Hero Arts Week!

Hi everyone!

Happy Monday...and Happy Thanksgiving to all of my fellow Canadians! :)

I've decided to do a little something special on my blog this week and dedicate it to my absolute favourite company, Hero Arts! :)

Here are the top ten reasons why I love Hero Arts:

1.  I LOVE their stamps...and love that they create stamps to satisfy a variety of tastes. There's something for everyone. :)

2. They have the most wonderful design team (Jennifer McGuire, Shari Carroll, Lisa Spangler, and many others) who continue to inspire with their work. They are also some of the nicest people I know.

3. They are VERY generous! As a winner of a number of their challenges, a past Day on the Blog Winner, and past Hero Hostess I have been very blessed by their generosity.

4. They have an amazing publication incentive. The best one I've come across.

5. They regularly ask their customers for suggestions for future stamps via the Hero Arts flickr group.

6. The Hero Arts flickr group is one big happy family. LOTS of women. No drama. ;)

7. Their clear stamps are of the best quality, made in the USA from genuine photo-polymer.

8. Hero Arts goes above and beyond to run a 'green' company, doing what they can to protect the environment.

9. I love their coordinating papers, inks, buttons, and gems. They also have dies and embossing folders that work with a number of there stamps. So. Much. Fun. :)

10. Hero Arts has partnered up with other fabulous companies (Sizzix, Basic Grey, Studio Calico) to bring us stamps that co-ordinate with products from these companies.

ETA: I'm having a little giveaway too!

I've been wanting to do a Hero Arts giveaway this week but have been trying to decide exactly how I wanted to do it. Ok, enough typing. ;) Here's a card I had a tonne of fun making using Hero Arts' new Merry Christmas Tree stamp and die-cut set and their new dot swirl embossing folder from the Medallion set. I also used various Hero Arts embellishments which I have linked below.

Paper Crafts Holiday Cards & More Vol. 7

Hi everyone,

Happy World Card Making Day!!! I'm not sure whether I'll actually get a chance to play today. I have to make a couple of salads for a Thanksgiving dinner tomorrow and also get the house cleans from top to bottom.

I thought I'd just pop in to share a card I have published in the current Paper Crafts Holiday Cards & More.

Here it is:

I die cut the nativity with my Silhouette. I also cut out 2 copies of just the outline of it for the card front and back. The nativity scene is adhered to the card front with foam dots.

Simon Says Stamp October Card Kit: Card #3

Hi everyone,

Welcome back! Today I'm sharing another card I made using the Simon Says Stamp October Card Kit.

Here it is:

I wanted to embellish one the white satin flowers from the kit for this card. I cut out one of the small flowers from the same patterned paper I used as my background to use as a flower center, adding Liquid Pearls to the very center of it. I also stamped a couple of leaves from the stamp set, cut them out, and added them to the flower as well.

This is a new-to-me company and I`m so glad to have been introduced to it! For my card I used this spray called Buccaneer Bay. It is absolutely GORGEOUS! A fabulous combination of blue and brown. I love it!

Simon Says Stamp October Card Kit: Card #1

Hi everyone!!!

Happy October! Today is my Dad's 64th birthday. Happy Birthday, Dad! :) We're also having family over later today to celebrate our twins' 6th birthdays (which were last week). It should be a good day all around. :)

On to card making! This week I'll be sharing cards I've made using the new Simon Says Stamp October Card Kit! This is such a beautiful kit full of wonderful neutrals. I especially love the 'always' wood piece.

*Simon Says Stamp Card Kit of the Month October 2012 FOREVER AND ALWAYS

Here's today's card using that fabulous 'always' piece. I think the card is pretty self-explanatory. I did use some Peeled Paint distress ink and Perfect Pearls with water to color some of the ribbon to make my leaves.

Thanks so much for stopping by! I'll be sharing more cards using the Simon Says Stamp October Card Kit tomorrow, Thursday, and Friday. Please stop in on Wednesday as well to see what this week's Simon Says Stamp Challenge will be. Here's what I used to make today's card. Some of the items that are included in the kit are also available individually.
